Obituary notes for Edward Moshinsky

Edward W. Moshinsky, 84, of Yardley, died Sunday at Lansdale Hospital, Lansdale.

Born in Port Carbon, he was a son of the late Walter and Jennie Ryndock Moshinsky.

Edward was a 49-year resident of Yardley, and a graduate of Penn State University.

He was a veteran of the Army, the Coast Guard and the Merchant Marines, having served during World War II.

He was a retired hydrologic technician supervisor for the U.S. Geological Survey agency of the Department of the Interior with more than 40 years of service. After retirement, Ed was a courtesy driver for the Faulkner Auto Group for more than 12 years.

Ed was a long-time committee chair and scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 30.

He was a member of St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church, Yardley.

Ed is the devoted husband of Margaret Schminkey Moshinsky; caring father of Carol Gillen, wife of John, Millsboro, Del., Janet Dubble, wife of David, Lebanon, Susan Bahe, wife of Gerald, Lancaster, Ed Moshinsky, husband of Pam, Lansdale, and Lynne Watts, wife of Ryan, Downingtown. Ed is the loving grandfather of Kyle and Ronnie Moshinsky, Tyler and Noah Bahe, Alyssa, Kyra and Lauryn Watts. He is also survived by a brother, Robert Moshinsky, Sewell, N.J.; a sister, Dot Mollan, Lansdale; nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to Ed's Life Celebration from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday followed by his funeral service at Swartz/Givnish Funeral Home, 323 Washington Ave., Newtown. Interment with military honors will follow in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown. Margaret S. Moshinsky, 93, of Lansdale, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 11, at Dock Woods Senior Living Community, Lansdale, PA. Born in Port Carbon, PA, Margaret had been a 49 year resident of Yardley, PA.
Margaret worked for the U.S.Government for many years with the former Bureau of Mines and at the Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. She spent time volunteering with the Yardley Makefield Emergency Unit. She was a homemaker and enjoyed doing ceramics and crafts. She loved the beach and swimming. Margaret was a long time member of the Yardley United Methodist Church.
Margaret struggled with debilitative hearing loss for most of her adult life and made the commitment to be a part of helping to find new cures for ear problems by donating her temporal bones to scientific research at Harvard Medical School upon her passing.
Margaret is the daughter of the late William and Amanda Bull Schminkey and was the devoted wife of the late Edward W. Moshinsky.
She is the loving mother of Carol Gillen, wife of John Gillen of Millsboro, DE, Janet Dubble, wife of David Dubble of Lebanon, PA, Susan Bahe, wife of Gerald Bahe of Lancaster, PA, Ed Moshinsky, husband of Pam Moshinsky of Lansdale, and Lynne Watts, wife of Ryan Watts of Downingtown, PA. Margaret is the loving grandmother of Kyle and Ronnie Moshinsky, Tyler and Noah Bahe, Alyssa, Kyra, and Lauryn Watts, and great grandmother of River Bahe.
She is also survived by brother-in-law Robert Moshinsky and sister-in-law Barbara Moshinsky of NJ, and many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to Margaret's Life Celebration from 10:30 to 11:30 AM on Friday, October 29, and to her funeral service at 11:30 AM at the Swartz-Givnish Funeral Home, 323 Washington Ave. Newtown, PA. Interment will follow 1:00 PM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown. Service can be viewed at the Swartzgivnish Facebook page at 11:30 AM.
