Obituary notes for Emma Mae Troutman
Emma M. Bordner Spangler,103, of Mt. Zion, PA passed away on January 30, 2021 at StoneRidge Towne Centre, Myerstown, PA.

She was the widow of Kenneth H. Spangler to whom she was married 72 years. She was born in Mohrsville, PA on January 13, 1918. She was the daughter of the late William Troutman and Louisa (Rentschler) Troutman. Emma was a homemaker and retired as a seamstress in the garment industry.

She was an active member of Zion Goshert's UCC in Mt. Zion, member of the Ladies Aid Society, Superintendent of the Children's Sunday School and could always be found in the church grove kitchen cooking for suppers and chicken BBQ fundraisers. She enjoyed cooking, baking, hosting family dinners and was especially well known for her coconut custard pie.

She is survived by her children: Richard Bordner (Eleanor) Lebanon, Marilyn Hoffa (Glenn) Hershey, Madelyn Lynch (Michael) Myerstown, and Randy Spangler (Deborah) San Antonio, TX. In addition to her children, she is survived by 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is the last of her 8 siblings. A grandson: Robert Bordner preceded her in death.

A Memorial Service will be held at Zion Goshert's UCC at a later date. Interment will be at Zion Goshert's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zion Goshert's UCC, 1588 Mount Zion Rd, Lebanon, PA 17046.

Mt. Zion - Kenneth H. Spangler, 95, of Mt. Zion, passed away on December 5, 2019 at StoneRidge Towne Centre, Myerstown, PA. He as the husband of Emma M. Spangler, to whom he was married 72 years.

Born in Jonestown, PA on June 16, 1924, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Dubbs) Spangler. He was a farmer and retired after many years driving tractor trailer for AWI in Robesonia. An active member of Zion-Gosherts UCC in Mt. Zion, he served as a deacon, elder, member of Property Committee and Cemetery Board and especially enjoyed seeing the chicken BBQ fundraisers. A life member of Tall Cedars of Lebanon and contributed many hours to maintaining Quittie Woods. He enjoyed gardening, tending to his fruit trees, and mowing his property - always a farmer at heart.

He is survived by his wife, Emma, his daughters; Marilyn Hoffa (Glenn) of Hershey, Madelyn Lynch (Michael) of Myerstown, and a son Randy (Deborah) of San Antonio, TX, and a step-son, Richard Bordner (Eleanor) of Lebanon. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 3 step-great-grandchildren, and 3 step great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Ken is preceded in death by his siblings; Florence Kreider, Lester, Harry, Russell, and Arlene Long.

A Memorial Service will be held on January 8, 2020 at 2:00pm at Zion Goshert's UCC located at 1588 Mt. Zion Rd. Lebanon. Visitation with family will follow the service.
