Obituary notes for Martha M. (Spouse 1)
Martha M.D. Hackman, 91, formerly of Manheim, and Berks and Lebanon Counties, died peacefully and went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at Pleasant View Retirement Community Manheim. Born in Berks County, she was the daughter of the late Lewis S. and Katie Rentschler Reber. In 1983 Martha retired from Sterling Drug Manufacturing in Myerstown, previously she was a teacher in a one room school house in Lebanon County. She was the wife of the late
who died in 1996; her first husband was the late Myron S. Dubble who died in 1988. Martha was a member of the East Fairview Church of the Brethren Manheim; previously she was a member of the Cocalico Church of the Brethren and Heidelberg Church of the Brethren where she taught Sunday School and Bible School for 30 years. She was a volunteer for two years with Brethren Volunteer Service in Mississippi and with disaster relief projects along the east coast of the U.S. She was president of Berks County Farm Women Group 2 and helped with Berks and Lebanon County 4-H Clubs. Her interests included sewing, quilting, crocheting, and flower gardening.
Surviving are two sons: Roger G. Dubble, of Spring Grove, Illinois, Kean B. husband of Joan Hostetter Dubble of Elizabethtown, a son-in-law, Earl M. Moyer of Manheim, two stepsons: Richard husband of Bonadine Hackman, Robert F. husband of Janice Hackman, a stepson-in-law, Thomas Williams all of Lititz, twelve grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, and nine step great grandchildren. Preceding her in death is a son, Malcom Dubble, two daughters: Dona Moyer, Brenda N. Hess, a step daughter, Betty Lou Williams, a granddaughter, Irene M. Dubble, a brother, Grant Reber, and three sisters: Mildred Wagner, Ruth Ziegler, and Mabel Krommes.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at the Heidelberg Church of the Brethren 162 East Reistville Road, Myerstown, PA on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 3:00 PM. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. There will be a viewing at the church on Saturday afternoon from 2:00 PM until the time of the service. Please omit flowers.
