Obituary notes for Bertie G. Gibson
Bertie G. Spangler, 88, of Myerstown passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at StoneRidge Towne Centre, Myerstown, while in the care of WellSpan Hospice. She was the wife of the late Clyde L. Spangler who died on April 6, 2016.

Born in Rockingham County, VA on February 27, 1933, she was a dedicated homemaker all her life. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and cooking.

She is survived by five sons, five daughters, nineteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, six brothers, and one sister. She was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, and a sister.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at Kreamer Funeral Home & Crematory, 618 E. Main St., Annville. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

Clyde Leroy Spangler, 87, of 412 Maple Avenue, Gretna Springs, Manheim died Wednesday, April 6, 2016 in the Lebanon VA Medical Center. He was the husband of Bertie Gibson Spangler with whom he celebrated 65 years of marriage.

Born in Shellsville on March 19, 1929, he was the son of the late Charles and Katherine Miller Spangler. He retired as a nursing assistant at the Lebanon VA Medical Center.

Clyde was a US Army Veteran of Korea and a graduate of Hershey High School. He was a member of Cornwall United Methodist Church, active with the Board of Directors at Gretna Springs, a member of the Rexmont Fire Company and Ambulance Association, and the Cornwall Athletic Club. He also enjoyed hunting, playing golf, caddying for professional golfers and at one time met the great Arnold Palmer.

Surviving in addition to his wife are sons Brian Spangler of Lebanon, Michael husband of Cindy Spangler of Eureka, CA, Jeffrey S. husband of Christine Spangler of Lancaster, Craig husband of Robin Spangler of Dallas, TX, Alan husband of Jackie Spangler of London, England, daughters Debra A. Mayes of Alfred, NY, Donna wife of Carl Borst of Williamsburg, VA, Diana wife of Tim Casey of Lakeland, FL, Dori Feeser of Lancaster, and Denise Mogetz of Troy, NY, a brother Robert Spangler of Redding,CA, a daughter-in-law Lisa Spangler of Rexmont, 19 grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Douglas Spangler, a daughter Karen Spangler, six brothers, and four sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 12:30 PM at the Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main Street, Annville. Interment will be held in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Thursday from 11:30 AM-12:30 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Lebanon VA Medical Center Hospice Unit, 1700 N. Lincoln Avenue, Lebanon, PA 17042 in his memory.
