Obituary notes for Levi M. (Spouse 1)
26 Nov 1920: Harry Behney and his brother-in-law, Levi Bross, were instantly killed yesterday afternoon in a shocking accident at Greble. They were engaged in plowing in one of the fields on the farm of Amos Behney, the father of one of the unfortunate young men. And as they proceeded, they were dynamiting stumps to remove them. Several stumps had already been removed and another was being loaded when there was a premature explosion which was heard at the farm house. Mr. Behney, knowing there was something amiss, hastened to the field and was horrified to find that both men were already dead. There was no eye witness to the tragedy but from the condition of the bodies, death must evidently have been instantaneous. Both bodies were horrobly mangled and the clothing of the victims were in shreds and were literally torn from the bodies. Behney had a leg torn off at the hip and Bross had both legs broken near the ankles and both had frightful injuries. Mr. Behney was aged about 26 years, and resided at home. Mr. Bross, who was aged about 20 years, was married to a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Behney about a year ago. He purchased a neighboring farm and the couple took up housekeeping there only last spring. He purchased a neighboring farm, (formerly the Grant Heffelfinger farm), and the couple took up housekeeping there only last spring. Funeral Director Isaac H. Bahney, of Myerstown, has charge of the arrangements for both funerals, and announcements will be made at a later date. (CK note: Harry Behney was interred in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Fredericksburg.[Lebanon Daily News]
