Obituary notes for Carl J. Bross
Carl J. Bross, 77, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2012, of natural causes at the Reading Hospital. His wife, Eva M. (Schmidt) Bross, died in 1995. Born in Bethel Twp., he was the son of the late Samuel M. and Naoma R. (Ziegler) Bross. He was a graduate of Bethel High School and served two years in the Brethren Volunteer Service. Carl owned and operated a dairy farm in Bethel Twp. from 1959 to 1990 and has been a driver for Bieber Trailways since 1994. He was a member of Little Swatara Church of the Brethren. He is survived by three sons, H. Stephan Bross of Bellefonte, Dennis S. Bross of Bethel Twp., and C. Christopher Bross of Chapel Hill, N.C.; a brother, Elmer Bross of Bethel; five sisters, Sarah J. Hess of Middletown, Ruth J. Bohrer of Sterling, Va., G. Fay Peterson of Rehrersburg, Lois A. Reinhard of Rehrersburg, and Carol A. Bindel of Forest Hill, Md.; and four grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Little Swatara Church of the Brethren, 31 Rehrersburg Road, Bethel, PA 19507, with Pastor Robert W. Krouse officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Little Swatara Church of the Brethren at the above address. Hill Funeral Home, Rehrersburg, is handling arrangements.
