Obituary notes for Gerhard P. Reinhard
Gerhard P. Reinhard, 85, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at Penn State - St. Joseph Hospital in Bern Twp.
Born in Weisslensburg, Germany on February 17, 1931 a son of the late Friedrich K. and Wilhelmina B. (Haag) Reinhard.
On May 1, 1965 he married Lois A. (Bross) Reinhard. They met in the summer of 1960 in Germany while Lois was an exchange student.
Gerhard completed Volkschule and became a Master Miller in the Stuttgart Trade School in preparation to run the family business. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1963 where he established an auto repair business, Gerhard Reinhard Repair Shop in Frystown. In retirement, he drove as a substitute bus driver for Quentin Gettel and drove bus for New Covenant School for sporting events.
Gerhard loved fixing things and also loved music, especially Brass Choir. He was an active member of Little Swatara Church of the Brethren where he served as a Deacon, sang in the Choir, and volunteered in disaster relief missions.
Surviving in addition to his wife Lois are three sons, two daughter-in-laws, a brother, and three grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Friedrich "Fritz" and Theodor; and a sister, Leonore.
Burial in Little Swatara Church Cemetery.
